Ben Lilley — Strolling Around The Web

Hi.

I'm co-founder of a company called Pitch. This is where most of my times is spent.

I enjoy a few things such as: design, technology, writing (rather poorly) and games.

I can be found around the web on places such as Twitter and Flickr.

I like you.

I’m not sure why, but this is kind of awesome.

This right here is raw talent. Absolutely amazing drumming. (via peteinakl)

Beautiful and informative video introduction for Square, the new mobile payment platform from Jack Dorsey et al.

So Obama does have a plan.

A beautiful new text editor, with excellent document management built right in. This might just be my turn-to application when I need to get some writing done.

Shame about the icon.

For the resn christmas party we drove an hour out of Wellington and tramped 2 hours through the bush to stay at a hut in the Orongorongo Valley.

We carried in enough booze to stock a small bar, lit a fire that lasted well into the night and ate extremely well.

My entire body aches and I’ve lots of sleep to catch up on but I’d do it all again in a heartbeat. So much fun.

This is awesome on so many levels. I’m sorry resn but I might steal this idea for pitch next year.

YouTube user vadoskincheg decides to blow our minds by blending 50 movie trailers into one, somehow it works remarkably well.

We can’t pay for the work at the moment but we can offer you equity which should work out better for you in the long run!

Ah yes, this was my submission. We’ve had this about 3 times over the last year at pitch. (via clientsfromhell)

Interesting statistics, but at the same time nothing really surprising either. As someone in the 18-29 age bracket I couldn’t name a single one of my friends that opposes same-sex marriage. (via GruberContexts)

The data supports the notion that younger people are more supportive of gay marriage than older people. I also think it’s interesting that, even in states that we normally consider quite hostile to gay rights (the ones at the bottom of the table), there is still a significant age difference: 18-29 year-olds in Alabama, for example, are more supportive of gay marriage than people 65 and older in Massachusetts. So, while we like to think about states as “liberal” or “conservative,” spreading out the data by age tells a much more complicated story.
